I wanted to highlight the two nebulae IC 59 and IC 63 by rotating and cropping the previously published image....

Sh2-185 is an emission and reflection nebula, visible in the constellation Cassiopeia; it consists of two distinct nebulous regions with different characteristics from each other. Its position is very easy to identify thanks to the fact that it surrounds the bright star γ Cassiopeiae; the bright nebulous part can be identified in particular in a north-east direction with respect to the star, where there are two nebulous concentrations known as IC 59 and IC 63. In the photographs the reddish color of the ionized gas mixed with the bluish of the dust which shines due to reflection of the blue light of the star.

This magnificent region was photographed on two different evenings and from two different places, the first photographic session performed with the Optolong Astronomy Filter Lpro filter from the very good sky of Pozzaglia Sabina where we have a Bortle scale 4 and an SQM of 20.09 The second session was done from the sky of Guidonia Montecelio with the L-extreme filter where we have a Bortle scale of 6 and an SQM of 19.6

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
